Apollo Astronaut Buzz Aldrin

The challenge of President Kennedy was fulfilled on July 20, 1969 when American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to step foot on the surface of the moon. Apollo 11 represented a landmark of technology and science on an unprecidented scale which required the efforts of thousands of people working to achieve a common goal.

Dragon Buzz Aldrin

Buzz Aldrin from Dragon Models is one of my favorite out of the box figures. The unique subject of an astronaut and the specialized gear makes for a fun figure. I applied a little bit of 'moon dust' weathering and added a dual microphone which you dont really see but the figure its really stock. I scratched the figure's nose while putting on the inner helmet so I repainted the headsculpt. A few pictures have a little photoshop work in them but I will let you decide which ones those might be.

Omega Speedmaster Professional

The Omega Speedmaster Professional watch was issued to astronauts by NASA and was worn while on the surface of the moon by Buzz Aldrin.

Buzz Aldrin Action Figure PLSS

The Portable Life Support System (PLSS) proudly displays the NASA emblem and the American flag.

Despite the turmoil during the 1960s while under the fear of nuclear war, the distrust of the Cold War and the War in Vietnam filled the headlines day in and day out, landing on the moon on July 20, 1969 gave hope of the things to come. Installed upon the lunar lander on the moon was placed a plaque which reads, "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969, A.D. We came in peace for all mankind."

We feel that this stands as a symbol of the insatiable curiosity of all mankind to explore the unknown.
